“AMA has given me the opportunity to meet amazing new friends as a transfer to the University of Maryland. Growing as a professional within the AMA is also an experience I would not trade for anything. The valuable professional knowledge I have gained from AMA that I apply in my career now is priceless. I love the AMA at the University of Maryland, the people and events are so much fun!”

“My four years with terpAMA have been phenomenal. I have not only made really great friends, but also several professional contacts. Through trips and company presentations, I have been able to talk one-on-one with companies such as ABC and MTV in New York City. Additionally, I have been able to gain real life experience and apply what I have learned in the classroom as a member of the executive board. I highly encourage anyone interested in marketing, advertising, communications, and business in general to get involved with the American Marketing Association.”

I came in as a freshman marketing major, so I wanted to take advantage of the resources available to me. That's why I joined the AMA. The connections and opportunities AMA provides you are endless, but it's up to you to take advantage of them. I chose to be a member of the Baltimore Professional Chapter as well. As a result, I won their scholarships two years in a row!

The Baltimore and College Park Chapter of the AMA provide valuable resources that you normally would not get. For example, the speakers at weekly meetings can lead to your next internship or job. It's all about networking and the AMA really helps you learn and practice skills necessary to succeed in real world situations. Plus, getting free food every week is a plus.

The AMA is definitely one of the most active and prominent organizations in the Smith School and I am honored that I was a part of such a well-organized association.
